How Do You Become Successful?

What’s your definition of success?  Have you ever really taken the time to think and answer that question?

Animation Factory®,keys,success,text,web animations,web elements,dangling,messages,concepts

I use to think success meant having long fancy job titles, making a certain amount of money and driving a decent car.  Although, deep down I didn’t really care about those things, I adopted the thought process because that’s what the world considered success.  And I was unhappy.

So, what do you consider success?  What is your definition?

Joshua 1:8 states “this book of law shall not depart out thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Success doesn’t come according to our standards and what we think or expect.  Nope.  Success comes when we study the law.  What is the law?  God’s word, the Bible.

If you intend to make a difference in the lives of other individuals you cannot and will not be effective without God in the forefront.  “The steps of a good man are ordered” Psalm 37:23.

If you are still deciding your worth by what the world says, then stop it!  The world’s definition of success is not God’s definition.  You cannot base the assignment, the purpose God has ordained for your life on whether or not it is prestigious enough.  Or if you will be “successful” (according to what the world considers success) doing it.  Success in God’s eyes is not about money, or prestige or leadership roles, or power, or any of the other things the world considers success.  Success in God’s eyes is doing His work and manifesting His Kingdom here on earth. Being successful means serving.  Serving your gift, what God has placed within you, to others; the ones He has called you to reach.  It’s NOT about you, but about God!

When I asked the question of success in the title you thought it was going to be some 5 step process to where you had to do something cool, didn’t you?  Nope, it’s not that!  It’s all about God and doing His will!

Let’s be like Paul and fight the good fight the good fight of faith.  Change your thought process, renew your mind, and cleanse your heart.  And as you walk out His assignment for your life; as you complete your purpose, God will make your way prosperous and then, yes, and then, you shall have success – God’s way!

Be Blessed!

What Does It Take To Live a Life of Purpose?

“I am looking for my purpose.”  “I want to live a purposeful life.”  “I want to know why I am here on earth.”  Have you ever heard someone make those statements?  Maybe you, yourself have said them?

I have memories of sitting on my bed writing pages and pages of what I thought I wanted to do with  my life and reading books upon books about living on purpose and doing God’s will for my life.

I was happy and excited that I was being “purposeful.”  But here’s the thing, many of the books I read told me about how to “find” my purpose and how to use what I’m good at to fulfill my purpose.  But none of them told me arms outstretched, emotions, freedoms, happiness, joy, looking up,stretching, sun, women, peoplewhat it took, to live a life of purpose.  To go from “finding your purpose” to actually living out the big picture of the reality.  Yes! What it took!   The tears and frustration: the doubts and the fear.  The disappointments and the joys, oh, the joys!

And here’s the thing, if you are willing and ready to live a life of purpose you are probably wondering the same thing!  What exactly does it take to “do this?”   What does it take to step out on faith and do what God has placed a desire in your heart for?  What will it take to bring forth the greatness you know you have within you that is waiting to break forth and be the change?  Well, let me give you some wisdom.  Some “learn from experience” that can assist you as you travel the path God has ordained for you.  First, let me make this statement:

Living a life full of purpose means that it will take all of who you are  – the physical, mental and physical self – the whole you, to become the person and do the thing that God has already decreed over your life.

Some real life information on what it takes to walk the walk.

  • Living a life of purpose is a journey, a transition from where you are to where and how God needs you to be.  You don’t wake up one morning and “find” your purpose after searching for ever and then think like is going to be a bunch of roses.  No, it’s hard work and commitment and obedience to the Almighty.
  • To live a life of purpose you are always learning and growing.  You strive to gain wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  There is always knowledge that God is imparting into you whether through life circumstances, others or —.  If you don’t learn you can’t grow.  If you don’t and won’t grow then its hard press for God to use you like He needs to.  At each intersection of life you should have learned the lesson from the previous and get ready to learn for the one you are about to embark on.  It is a continuous process!

  • To live a life of purpose means to encompass the whole you.  What does that mean?  It means it takes all the parts of a car to get it to move in the direction it needs to go in.  Well, so it is with our bodies.  It means working on relationships, getting finances in order, taking care of our bodies, renewing our minds, learning and understanding what makes us unique and how God can and will utilize your strengths.  It means understanding the spiritual realm better, learning become.

  • Living a life of purpose means as you grow your faith should be growing.  You are deeper in the Word of God.  You study more and you no longer want or need baby food.  If God allows a test you’ll be able to recognize it for what it is and stand. Your prayer life is better, stronger and you truly understand that your walk is spiritual and not physical.  It means stepping out into the unknown and taking chances, big chances, chances that maybe no one else taken.

  • To live a life of purpose mean at times you may experience, fear and insecurities.  Feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, tired, and alone and fear may arise.  Trials and tears, temptation to do things on your own and in a hurry because you feel God isn’t listening or taking too long.  It means having and learning patience!  It means there may be times finances may look funny instead of happy.  It may mean staying up at 2am or 3am in the morning to work on projects, or having to learn how to use a program or do something – and possibility of tearing your hair out! – Because you don’t have the staff or the resources yet to do the work. It means when people can’t see what you see and try to bring you down with doubt, you stand on the promise God showed you.  You trust Him.

  • To live a life of purpose means loving life and what you do, what God has placed a desire in your heart to manifest.  It means standing firm in your convictions, your desires.  Standing strong, tall, bold, and proud!  It means having fun, laughing at where you were, where you are going and enjoying the ride.  It means gaining new insights, new friends and helping to change lives.  It means walking in your greatness.  Being a leader and serving the Body of Christ with the gifts God placed within you.  It means being totally committed and knowing without a shadow of a doubt there is no turning back.

So there you go. Some tidbit personal insights to get you thinking!  Doing what God has placed on your heart to do is a wonderful thing!  But you we have to understand that it’s not all a bunch of roses.  At the end of the day, saying yes and truly doing and becoming that person is all worth the effort.

Live your life on purpose.  A life full of all God says is possible.  Look for resources to help you and the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Stand in your greatness!  Do, act, become!  With God all things are possible!

Relationship Insights That Will Help You Go From Purpose to Vision

Relationships, they come in all shapes, sizes and colors.  From familial, to work, to spiritual to friends, they’re there.  Then you have the good ones, the bad ones, the loving, hurtful, toxic or empowering ones.  Well they all do one thing – grow you!

The word relationship is defined as a connection, association, or involvement; an emotional or other connection between people.

You are in a relationship right now – with me!  Think about that.

As a woman pursuing her purpose in God, desperately seeking the way to live out the greatness she knows she is called to, you are going to experience relationships that will empower you, teach you, test you, hurt you and disappoint you.

When I first started this journey of living my life on purpose with God at the forefront, I thought everyone would be happy for me.  Tereciah had found her purpose!  I was so excited that I knew, finally, why I was here on earth and I was bursting at the seams to do something with the gifts, talents, and skills God had given me and allowed me to learn.  I was ready!

People didn’t get it.  And it hurt – a lot.

My husband didn’t get it; my family didn’t get it; the people at work didn’t get it and even some of my Christian friends didn’t get it.  Talk about being deflated!

However, I did not allow those relationships to stop me or derail me and if you are in this situation right now, don’t let those relationships hinder or stop you as well.

Here are some quick insights to help you walk out this journey from purpose to vision.

  • Who Has Your Ear?

I once heard someone say that whoever has your hear has your mind.  If you allow people to speak words of doubt or lies to you, you will start to believe it. You will see yourself as the words they have spoken.  Words DO have power; whether spoken by you or by others.

  •  Surround Yourself

Not everything is good for you and the same principal holds true for relationships.  Not all relationships have your best interest at heart.  Surround yourself with individuals that are positive, willing to share, encourages you and is growing spiritually.  You want to be able to see fruitfulness manifesting in their lives.  You want to see these individuals doing what it takes to bring their vision into reality.  You want to see faith in action, and with that faith iron will sharpen iron.  In other words your faith will grow and increase because of their faith and vice versa.

  •  Disassociate and Pray!

There will be people in your life – family, friends and haters – that you will have to stop associating with.  It doesn’t mean that you don’t care for them or that you don’t love them anymore.  But you are trying to do God’s will and be obedient.  They may not understand.  If that is the case then keep your distance, be cordial and pray.

Well, what if it’s a spouse or a child or a parent or a best friend?  Then hold your peace and pray; hard (that’s another blog post)!

  •  Know Yourself

What things inspire you?  How do you like to be encouraged?  What traits are important to you in an individual (integrity, friendliness, etc.)  How do you see yourself?  Are you willing to grow?  What things are you willing to accept or not accept in an individual?  What type of relationship are you looking for?  Are you willing to change if necessary?  Are you willing to give to others?  Remember relationships come in different forms.

  •  Reflect and Learn

Take some time to reflect on relationships past and present.  Were they good or bad?  How did you end up in the relationship?  How did you grow?  What lesson did you learn?  Were there mistakes then that you see yourself making now? How have you changed?  Why did the relationship come to an end?  How do you feel about the individual or the situation?

Sometimes God removes individuals from our lives because He knows they are not good for us.  There are times when they are only there for a season – or two, and other times He removes you because He needs you alone.  He needs to pour into you; cleanse you; get you into spiritual shape.

  •  God First

Above everything and all else keep God first.  Let him lead and guide you.  Read his word, follow His decrees and allow Him to call you friend!

I hope these few insights have helped you in walking out your purpose to the big picture of what God says is possible for your life; your vision.

In my relationship with you, I hope we can continue to grow together!

To Your Greatness!

What Is Your “Yes” Moment?

There is more that I require of thee.
If I told you what I really need, will your heart and soul say, yes?
I’ll obey Jesus, I won’t stray Jesus.
My heart, my mind, my soul says YES!

These are the words to the song Yes, by Shekinah Glory that I completely surrendered my life to, to God and told Him “Yes” for the purpose on my life.

Yesterday at the church I attend this song was sung and it touched me deeply, as it always does, when I hear it.

Can this be you?  You know you are called to do more and it slowly consumes you and it’s all you think about.  You have a desire to change lives and make a difference.  You want God to be at the forefront of all you do.

Today, I want to share with you this powerful song (via video).  Allow it to minister to you as it did to me.  Allow me to empower you to bring forth the greatness you know that is within you and to walk in your God ordained destiny through this video.  Allow it to speak to you.

What will be your “yes” moment or your “yes” song?

The first step to you beginning this journey in earnest is saying “Yes!”

Use What God Gave You to Build the Empire (vision) You Desire

Recently I have been noticing quite a few individuals on a popular social media site promoting their upline businesses.

Let me just say here that I am not against anyone trying to make an honest living as I have tried some of them myself.

However, instead of working on every quick-fix that you think will alleviate your financial woe, have you ever considered just living your purpose?

What do I mean by that? Well, when you are living, working, and doing the purpose God has ordained for your life you are happier, more fulfilled and it will ultimately lead to bringing in an income.

Take the same skills you are utilizing for others in building up their up line. Use that skill to seed into a life of purpose filled with God’s wills and desires. Do His will. The word says to acknowledge Him in all of our ways and He will direct our paths

God knows the desires of your heart; he knows you desire to eradicate lack; to find that one thing your good at and can turn into an empire. He knows the desire for a life that is fulfilling.

He wants to give them to you but He can’t until you seek Him and what He has for you to do. So, seek His face and allow Him to use your talents for His kingdom while at the same time opening doors of favor and blessings and income into your life.

“A vision we give to others of who and what they could become, has power when it echoes what the spirit has already spoken into their souls.” TWFYT 040312

Your Vision in Reality

Several evenings ago I attended an event that as a requirement you had to dress and portray in character the overall vision God had for your life.  In other words it was a“Vision Party” and you were portraying yourself as if your vision was already manifested.

So, if the vision that God gave you were being a national bestselling author, a well known speaker that traveled all around the world evangelizing to others and doing signs and wonders, or even a financial expert with their own television show touching the lives of believers, you came as such.

And it was fun!!!

The amazing thing was hearing all God had placed within the lives of the women that attended and how each person’s vision was somehow interconnected with each in some way, shape or form.

When God has given you a vision and you are walking out your purpose in life sometimes it can seem huge!  You can see it, but many times others can’t.  They just can’t see you, the person, accomplishing, being, or doing the things God has purposed for your life.  They see the now; not the “to be”; the future.

I have written my vision down – many times.  I have envisioned it; dreamt it; prayed on it; fasted on it.  I know what it looks like.  But that night when I physically went from working it to actually being it, I felt like it was a new beginning, a new chapter in the book God has already written for my life.

As I stood in front of the ladies and spoke out loud the ideas and thoughts God has given me.  As I walked around the room, in character, as my future self.  As I listened and watched the women portray their future selves: confident, strong, leaders, trailblazers, world changers, authors, philanthropist, and entrepreneurs; I felt the awesomeness of the moment.  I felt the reality of God’s vision for my life and theirs. I felt God’s words that were uttered over our lives from before we came out of our mother’s womb, start to bud and the words that were sent forth by God, accomplishing that which He pleased.

“I have given them [God’s Children] the solutions to solve all of the world’s problems…” is a quote that was given to author Ericka D. Jackson when God was ushering her into her purpose in life; her vision.  And that evening, I can honestly say I saw the absolute truth to that statement.

Proverbs 18:21 says that death and life is in the power of the tongue.  We also know that we frame our world by the words we utter out of our mouths.  And that evening, I could feel destinies coming into alignment.  We were literally being the person we saw ourselves to be in a God ordained future.  There were no apologies for our greatness and no walking small!  No doubt and no hesitancy.  It was all purposed filled life!

So I ask you, what is God’s vision for your life?  What is that thing that when you think on it, dream it, envision it; it feels like, “it is already yours because it is within you waiting to [burst] forth?”

Whatever it is just know it’s already done.  So start walking towards it and live your vision in reality!

Desires of Thine Heart

The Word says to “write the vision and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.” and to “delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Well, if we, you and I, write, [adhere to what God has for us and place it deep within our hearts; if we truly seek after and do what he needs of us to do] His ways in our hearts, He WILL give us [you and I] the desires [things we would like to see happen in our lives, whether physically, spiritually, or emotionally], of our hearts.

So the question today is what are some of the desires of your heart?

I’ll share two of mine with you: That I will have a relationship with Him like the Ancients of Old had [Abraham, Moses, David, Elijah, Elisha, etc.].

That He will allow me to touch the lives of millions in such a way that they will have a closer relationship with Him – they will move and do what He needs of them to do.

Here’s another question: What is God’s vision for your life?  What do you need to write on the tablets of your heart in order for it to be pondered in your mind, for you to start acting upon it?  You have to write that vision.

It will not go anywhere without you making that first step.

Be Blessed!
