Your Vision in Reality

Several evenings ago I attended an event that as a requirement you had to dress and portray in character the overall vision God had for your life.  In other words it was a“Vision Party” and you were portraying yourself as if your vision was already manifested.

So, if the vision that God gave you were being a national bestselling author, a well known speaker that traveled all around the world evangelizing to others and doing signs and wonders, or even a financial expert with their own television show touching the lives of believers, you came as such.

And it was fun!!!

The amazing thing was hearing all God had placed within the lives of the women that attended and how each person’s vision was somehow interconnected with each in some way, shape or form.

When God has given you a vision and you are walking out your purpose in life sometimes it can seem huge!  You can see it, but many times others can’t.  They just can’t see you, the person, accomplishing, being, or doing the things God has purposed for your life.  They see the now; not the “to be”; the future.

I have written my vision down – many times.  I have envisioned it; dreamt it; prayed on it; fasted on it.  I know what it looks like.  But that night when I physically went from working it to actually being it, I felt like it was a new beginning, a new chapter in the book God has already written for my life.

As I stood in front of the ladies and spoke out loud the ideas and thoughts God has given me.  As I walked around the room, in character, as my future self.  As I listened and watched the women portray their future selves: confident, strong, leaders, trailblazers, world changers, authors, philanthropist, and entrepreneurs; I felt the awesomeness of the moment.  I felt the reality of God’s vision for my life and theirs. I felt God’s words that were uttered over our lives from before we came out of our mother’s womb, start to bud and the words that were sent forth by God, accomplishing that which He pleased.

“I have given them [God’s Children] the solutions to solve all of the world’s problems…” is a quote that was given to author Ericka D. Jackson when God was ushering her into her purpose in life; her vision.  And that evening, I can honestly say I saw the absolute truth to that statement.

Proverbs 18:21 says that death and life is in the power of the tongue.  We also know that we frame our world by the words we utter out of our mouths.  And that evening, I could feel destinies coming into alignment.  We were literally being the person we saw ourselves to be in a God ordained future.  There were no apologies for our greatness and no walking small!  No doubt and no hesitancy.  It was all purposed filled life!

So I ask you, what is God’s vision for your life?  What is that thing that when you think on it, dream it, envision it; it feels like, “it is already yours because it is within you waiting to [burst] forth?”

Whatever it is just know it’s already done.  So start walking towards it and live your vision in reality!

Write Your Vision In Ink!

“Pencil in your plans but write your vision in ink.”

That’s a sentence I read recently in a devotional.  A sentence that made me think “wow!”   See, many of us know the scripture that talks about vision, you may not remember the book (Habakkuk) or the verse (2:2) but you know what it says, “…write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

So as you “write the vision, what do you see accomplished, achieved, attained?  What do you see as the “big picture” of God’s will for your life?  Write that in ink because it is already done.  It cannot be erased.  God said “He knows the thoughts He thinks toward you …to give you an expected end.”  Key words:  Expected End.  God already knows your capability.

Your plans, well, those you write in pencil.  Why?  Because just as I write this work on a tablet with a pencil, and having erased numerous times as my thoughts flow and change, so will your plans on how your vision will be attained.  Keyword:  Plans.

You may plan to do something a certain way, and it doesn’t work out.  So you have to go back to the drawing board.  You may have planned to go a certain route and God said, “No.”  Hire certain individuals, take certain positions, go certain places or manifest the vision a particular way – and all were subject to change.  Why?  Because you are the vessel and He has the authority to rearrange things as He sees fit.

So as you write the overall vision (the one that God orchestrated for your life. Not you for your life) for your life in ink, and plans change, stay strong, be of good courage and God will not only strengthen you, but lead you in the path of His righteousness.

I liken the above quote on penciling your plans to a quote God gave me: God never changes; only the circumstances do.

Question:  What is the “big picture” of what God says is possible for your life?  What is His vision for your life?  Write it down today.

It’s Already Inside You

“Everything you need to accomplish the vision/purpose God has ordained for you is already inside you.”

Have you ever heard that statement before?  I have.  It’s a statement I tell myself and others all the time.

Recently, I proceeded to ask God a question in regards to that statement.

I said “Father, if you have placed everything that I will ever need to accomplish the task (purpose/vision) you have set before me to do, then how do I get it out?  I want your will to be my will but I’m not skilled  in marketing, or social media, or building a ministry. So, Father, how am I to take what you’ve placed within me, if I don’t know what’s there and how, and when, to use it?”

His answer: Obedience

Yes, obedience.  When we are obedient to God’s instructions then doors open and things happen.  You may not know how you will do it, where to find the resources, or what you will do.  But if you take that first step – and keep moving, God will pull out of you all the necessary parts.

You are the Vessel, and within you is an abundance of resources that God chooses to use to accomplish His task.  You were made in His image.  So, imagine you, the vessel, full of …

Strength; courage; boldness; faith; perseverance; love; gifts; talents; abilities; life experiences; world knowledge, spiritual knowledge, wisdom; understanding; relationships.

It’s an amazing thought, isn’t it?

Imagine this, God gives you an idea, a thought, or command that is so far beyond your grasp you say, “I don’t know how God!”

He tells you “I want you to open a home for battered women.”  You say, “God me? Are you sure?  Where am I going to find the place, the money?  I don’t even know how to run a business!”  But in faith you take the first step, one at a time.

And as you step, He pulls out courage.  You go a little further and need connections, so He pulls out relationships, and then knowledge; and so on until the task is complete.

The relationships are people you’ve met along the way that can give you the expertise, connections or donations you need for that home.  The wisdom is in knowing how to take the information you’ve gathered and make good decisions with it.  The knowledge comes in as you apply it to your vision/purpose.

God’s word says that everything works together for the good of them that love the Lord (Rom 8:28).  Let’s always remember to seek first the Kingdom of God by doing His will for our lives. And although He has called us and we are His vessels, chosen vessels, that obedience is better than sacrifice.

Faith is the substance of things hope for (Hebrews 11:1) – the fulfillment of your dreams, vision, purpose here on earth.

Last but not least, let us remember that God has plans for you.  Plans to prosper you and not harm you; to give you an expected end (Jer 29:11).

Now, go, do, and be all God says is possible for your life!  Remember, it’s already within you!

Desires of Thine Heart

The Word says to “write the vision and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.” and to “delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Well, if we, you and I, write, [adhere to what God has for us and place it deep within our hearts; if we truly seek after and do what he needs of us to do] His ways in our hearts, He WILL give us [you and I] the desires [things we would like to see happen in our lives, whether physically, spiritually, or emotionally], of our hearts.

So the question today is what are some of the desires of your heart?

I’ll share two of mine with you: That I will have a relationship with Him like the Ancients of Old had [Abraham, Moses, David, Elijah, Elisha, etc.].

That He will allow me to touch the lives of millions in such a way that they will have a closer relationship with Him – they will move and do what He needs of them to do.

Here’s another question: What is God’s vision for your life?  What do you need to write on the tablets of your heart in order for it to be pondered in your mind, for you to start acting upon it?  You have to write that vision.

It will not go anywhere without you making that first step.

Be Blessed!
